Third Thursdays

Third Thursday is all about bringing the community together in downtown McCook. Whether you’re a local or visiting, young or young at heart, you can enjoy music, games, food, and more every third Thursday from June to October, all happening on the iconic bricks in downtown McCook.

2025 Third Thursday schedule

Third Thursdays is the McCook Creative District's flagship event, where neighborhoods come together in the name of art.  Held on the 3rd Thursday from 5-8 PM, each monthly event is hosted by a different lead organization. 


June 19 - Norris Institute

July 17 - McCook Chamber of Commerce

Aug. 21 - Community Hospital

Sept. 18 - Prairie Plains CASA

Oct. 16 - McCook Community College


Ways to be involved

There are many ways to be part of the Third Thursdays magic:


  • Food Vendors: Want to join the fun? Drop a line to Karrie Steely to get added to the monthly email list


  • Artists: Ready to showcase your creativity? Whether it’s creating or selling your artwork, reach out to Marlene Meitl to get involved.


  • Downtown Businesses: Hosting something special on Third Thursday? Send a quick email, and we’ll add you to the featured map and give you a social media shoutout.


  • Volunteers:  Show your community some love by lending a hand—just a few hours once a month makes a big impact!  Contact Paula and she'll find the perfect spot for you.


  • Art Lovers:  Let your friends know about upcoming events and share our posts on social media.
